Computer on Fans Start Stop.and Then Start Again

This is the offset power up of a Frankenstein system (congenital from sometime and new parts). Power on, lights on, fans spool up, about the time loading screen appears on monitor ("press this for bios" "press that for diagnostics" etc.) the cpu fan stops, screen goes black with message "CPU fan failure! The system will power down in a few seconds to save your cpu". And it shuts down earlier I have a chance to practise anything else.
I have asunder and reconnected everything, didn't help; unplugged keyboard, mouse, audio out, and drives... no luck. Removed #1 RAM stick (per a thread on similar trouble), fan now continues running, no shutdown, but zippo appears on screen.
No fault beeps at any fourth dimension.
mobo is used ASUS M2N68-LA with Phenom2 and 6gig RAM
PS is new Gigabyte P650
no Os installed however

What kind of cpu cooler practice you have?
Are the fan(s) dust free?
Did you use the correct amount thermal paste to cpu? <>>

Hyper 212 cooler, with proper silicon grease. (Removed from my old desktop, to replace smaller ASUS cooler that was on board.)
But system doesn't fifty-fifty run long enough for anything to warm up, fan runs maybe thirty seconds and then stops, and message appears on screen.

In addition to Lewis' suggestion above, make sure the CPU heatsink fan cable is plugged in to the proper port on the mobo, usually labelled "CPU_FAN" or something similar. If you lot accidentally plugged it in to whatever other you will get that shutdown notice.

At that place is but i cpu fan connector on the board (concluding board besides had an alt cpu fan connector, fan worked as well in either).
Odd thing is, as noted, if i remove the RAM stick from the #one slot the fan continues running, no cpu fan warnings, only null else on screen either.

Reset your BIOS to brand sure there'due south non some saved custom fan contour running the fan at too depression a setting. That will mean either shorting the CLR_CMOS jumper or removing the BIOS battery, with the system powered down at the wall.
Odd thing is, as noted, if i remove the RAM stick from the #1 slot the fan continues running, no cpu fan warnings, but zippo else on screen either.
That is expected. Normally if POST fails all system fans will simply continue to run at full speed until the organization is powered off. It sounds like there is no physical problem with the fan, or the fan output on the motherboard.

Cleared CMOS (moved jumper, left it a while, moved it back), now lights on and fans run only nothing else. No beep codes because there is no buzzer on mobo, spot for one simply never installed (simply like manual says there is one IDE slot ...in that location'due south a infinite for one but it was never installed either). Hope I'thousand not SOL with this, can't afford another mobo correct now.

Hang on, how many RAM sticks are you working with? 6 Gb suggests you accept more than one. What I remember you need to practice is try each one individually, and try unlike RAM slots. Just keep irresolute the RAM around and retrying. It might exist worth cleaning the contact points on the RAM with a pencil eraser.

what? A pencil eraser can clean ram contacts????? Ah well the more than thorough way is to wipe it with a tissue soaked in 99% isopropyl booze.
Take out one of the ram sticks and run into if it boots, do this for both sticks, if it doesnt, purchase sone 99% isopropyl alcohol (maybe a jug of it) and pour some on the cpu socket and the cpu itself (pins), cover the socket with a tissue, put the cpu in an surface area that doesnt accept alot of dust like the packaging of the cpu, or you can just wrap it in a tissue, then leave it for 24h, ive done the motherboard one-half of this (i only wiped my cpu pads with the alcohol cause they are flat) and so far it has fixed 2 mobos.

Hmm, mobo supposedly had 6gig RAM; only I but pulled 3 Samsung 2gig sticks, M378T5663QZ3, and 1 Kingston KVR800D2N6/2G for a total of 8gig. Kingston in #one slot probably because it isn't as alpine every bit Samsung so easier fit under CPU cooler. Seems an odd combination, simply that's what was installed when I got information technology.
Initial test - any of the Samsung sticks in any slot, every bit presently as bluish HP screen appears cpu fan stops running, blueish screen replaced by "CPU fan has failed" detect, organisation shuts down; Kingston stick in any slot, fans keep running, nothing always appears on screen.
Regarding erasers, I've used typewriter erasers (similar a pencil with eraser instead of lead) or artists' soft erasers for years for cleaning electric contacts; non-abrasive but shine nicely (very skillful for motors since leaves smooth surface that won't abrade brushes).
BTW, tissue for cleaning? Shreds and leaves fibers behind. If you tin can still find them get a pack of vcr head cleaners, like a small chamois on a plastic handle; with a drop of alcohol polish to your heart'southward content with nothing left backside.

Oh then your cpu fan has failed or its connectedness is loose, if it has failed fans are ultra cheap anyways so just replace it, if it has a loose connection so reconnnect it.

But with the Kingston RAM the fan runs commonly, though nada else happens. And it was working fine in the arrangement I pulled it from.
